Penn Jillette, 60, is ready to rock a swimsuit at the beach! However, it wasn’t just about slimming down for summer that motivated the magician. In Dec. 2014, Penn had a major wakeup call when high blood pressure sent him to the hospital. And, ever since he had his health scare, Penn has been revamping his entire lifestyle and diet — without any magic!
Penn Jillette’s Weight Loss — Magician Drops 105 Pounds With Extreme Diet
Although it would have been easy for Penn to just say “Abracadabra” and let his medication improve his blood pressure, the Wizard Wars judge took his doctor’s advice to heart.
“My doctor said I needed to get my weight down, and if I brought it down 30 or 40 lbs., it would be a little easier to control. And then he said something in passing that completely blew my mind – he said, ‘If you got down to 230, you probably wouldn’t need any of the meds,’” Penn revealed to People on April 8.

With this in mind, the entertainer embarked on an extreme low-calorie diet by eating only around 1,000 calories a day and subsequently, he lost about one pound per day. Wow, for the 6’7” magician, that’s no easy feat!
As for the other health tricks up his sleeve?
“I eat unbelievable amounts of food but just very, very, very healthy food,” dished Penn, who follows the Dr. Fuhrman’s Nutritarian diet, which does not include animal products, processed grains, added sugar or salt, according to People.
Penn Jillette: My Kids Know ‘Im A Lot More Energetic’
“I could probably have a steak or a doughnut every couple of weeks, but I just haven’t felt like it. When you’re feeling as bad as I felt, and you go to feeling as good as I feel, the temptation to go back to doing what you were doing when you felt bad is not very great.”
While fans of the Penn & Teller Show will definitely notice a difference on stage, it’s his family — including, wife Emily, 49, and their kids, Moxie CrimeFighter, 9, and Zolten Penn, 8 — that is always cheering him on, even when the curtains close.
“My relationship with my children has always been wonderful – I always spend a lot of time with them, but now they know that I’m a lot more energetic,” says Penn.
Indeed, with such an incredible transformation, we have a feeling that Penn & Teller will continue to be one of the longest running shows in history! Ta-da!
