Nature’s Fare is hosting The Gut/Brain Connection on Tuesday, at 7 p.m. at the store at 1350 Summit Dr.
Speaking will be holistic nutritionist Lisa Kilgour, who specializes in digestive health and the connection between the gut and brain.

Picnic in the park
It’s time to give Teddy some attention at the ninth annual Teddy Bear/Mother Goose picnic on Thursday, June 18, at Prince Charles Park.
The free event is hosted by the City of Kamloops, the YMCA-YWCA, the Kamloops Early Language and Literacy Initiative, the TNRD Library and Tk’emlups te Secwepemc social-development department.
It runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will include interactive activities, such as a teddy bear hospital, storytime, medieval jousting, the Rivertown Players, Zumba, crafts, a gardening station, gymnastics and Drummer Dave.
Celebrating culture
Vendors and artisans are invited to take part in National Aboriginal Day and Day of Wellness with Culture at White Buffalo Aboriginal
and Metis Health Society, 517 Tranquille Rd., on June 22.

Fundraiser at Fox
The Kamloops Spirit Warriors are holding a fundraising dinner at the Fox’n Hounds Pub at Sahali Centre Mall on June 22, to celebrate the 20th anniversary of breast cancer survivors and dragon boating.
The fundraiser helps the local team take part in dragon-boat festivals and buy paddles, life jackets and team bags. Tickets are $15 and can be obtained by calling 250-578-7334 or 250-829-4565.
The team is hosting a free paddle for anyone interested in trying it out on Saturday, at 3 p.m. at Pioneer Park.
All equipment will be provided. It is also hosting its own dragon-boat festival on Saturday, Aug. 8, as part of Ribfest.
