The outspoken New York native is determined to use her exposure to slash the stigma surrounding people with disabilities, and for that we bow down to HER. “If I can do big shows like Alexander Wang or Chanel and not be seen as the token girl, that goes a long way toward challenging perceptions,” she told Vogue in 2015.

Staying true to her personal mission, she took advantage of her current moment in the spotlight to change the language around disabilities. Many reports on the new campaign described her as “wheelchair-bound” and she responded on Twitter saying, “Now how about we fix that word ‘bound’?”



As the queen says, “Always stay gracious, best revenge is your paper.”
