Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has been open about her recent weight loss, blaming it on grief over the death of husband Jean-Bernard’s father.
But according to the Sun, the real reason behind her appearance is a family drama back home in Newcastle.
“Cheryl’s been going through a great deal of stress recently and has been left very upset over this matter,” a source told the newspaper.
“It’s constantly on her mind and could be a contributing factor to her weight loss.”
The news comes after Cheryl hit out at ‘skinny-shamers’ on her Instagram account, saying she was sick of being branded a ‘bag of bones’.
“How often do you hear, ‘give that girl a sandwich’ or ‘she needs a good feed’? Everyone says they want the ‘perfect’ body and have so many body goals, but when a girl is just a bit too skinny in your eyes, she gets judged,” the X Factor judge wrote.
“It isn’t your fault that you think like this. The media have told us that this size is too thin and that size is too big. That one roll of back fat is disgusting and not having a thigh gap (it’s OK for your thighs to touch) means you’re ugly.”
She finished: “There is so, so, so, so much more to life than having the ‘perfect body’. Every young person needs to understand that.”
