Lancaster man admits to fatal 100 mph crash

LANCASTER, Pa. (WHTM) – A city man has admitted in court that he caused a January crash that took the life of his passenger.


Erick Lopez, 23, pleaded guilty Tuesday in Lancaster County Court to homicide by vehicle, reckless endangerment, and summary violations, according to the district attorney’s office.


Sentencing is expected in a couple of months.


Police said Lopez was driving more than 100 mph when he crashed January 3 in the 200 block of South Queen Street, where the posted speed limit is 25 mph, killing 23-year-old David Castro-Valdez.
