“We love to do these services just to make women feel better about themselves and what’s happening in their lives and that’s what our industry is all about”, Kirby Morris, owner of Rocky Mountain Academy said.
Rocky Mountain Academy students provided women services in hair, skin, and nails, things most women want to take care of but don’t always have the time for.
“Kind of doing some free stuff for them so that they can understand what they can do to improve their lives and their beauty”, Morris added.
Although some of the vendors were focused on fun, others tackled more serious topics like women’s health.
“Especially here in Wyoming where depression has a high incident among women this venue offers us the opportunity to reach out to women who may not have a therapist in their town or in their area”, Victoria Ziton, of Central Wyoming Counseling Center said.
Many of the booths offered free services, including a cancer screening from the Rocky Mountain Oncology.
“Were encouraging you to get in get checked out and were supporting women. I think that it’s important and I think that they should spread the word it’s not the first time that we’ve done it and it won’t be the last”, Kara Frizell, a Financial Counselor of Rocky Mountain Oncology said.
Whether it was a day filled with pampering or a day to improve your career or health, the Women’s Expo employees say they hoped to make a difference in women’s lives.
“As the nonprofit here in the area we feel a calling to make sure that every Wyoming resident gets the services that they need”, Ziton added.
The Women’s Expo is an annual event and will happen again next year.
