Community Midwives, Women's Health, Counties Manukau DHB

We have an exciting opportunity for Midwives to join our team. The Community Midwifery Service embraces a midwife-led/woman focused model of care enabling continuity of carer during the antenatal and postnatal period.The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4.30 pm. You will be required to work a weekend day each month. Our Community Midwives provide midwifery care for women with complex needs ranging from social challenges to medical conditions affecting their wellbeing in pregnancy.  The  Midwives are supported by our Specialist Midwives in Diabetes,  Maternal Fetal Medicine,  Social Workers and Community Health Workers. Components of this model include:  

• Home/community based antenatal and postnatal visiting


• In-patient postnatal visiting and discharge planning


• In order to meet the requirement of the midwifery scope of practice you will have the opportunity to be supported in providing occasional intra-partum care.  

Essential: 

• NZ Registered Midwife


• Current Practicing Certificate


• Current NZ drivers licence
